I qualified in 1984 after studying for three years at the Northern College of Chiropody (Manchester/Salford).

The next four years were spent in NHS employment with Southport and Formby Health Authority. I had special responsibility for providing the nail surgery service , and for the treatment of those in specialist psychiatric care at Greaves Hall Hospital. In 1989, I took up a post with Liverpool Health Authority, with responsibility for developing and operating the Orthotics Department.

I also worked within the Orthopaedics Department at Royal Liverpool Hospital, as the chiropodist in a specialist foot health team, headed by the distinguished surgeon Professor Leslie Klenerman. I was involved with a research clinic that developed new techniques in the prevention, and treatment of neuropathic foot ulcers.

Alongside my NHS work, I developed my private practice, opening my first surgery in Formby in 1991. In 2000, I decided to commit to full time private practice and I ceased all my NHS work. Now there are three venues for treatment, Formby, Ainsdale and Maghull. At Andrew Boyle Podiatry I have wonderful associates who have a wealth experience and deliver the quality of treatment expected in my practice. Between us we hope to keep our patients comfortable
and mobile for years to come.

In July 2008, I was appointed by the R & A to provide the Podiatry service for The Open at Royal Birkdale Golf Club.

I graduated in Podiatry in 1994 from The Northern College of Chiropody at Salford University.

I then worked for a short period for Chorley and South Ribble NHS Trust, gaining some valuable experience, before joining the Chiropody department in St. Helens and Knowsley.

Here I was responsible for a range of duties within a community setting. This included clinical work, domicilliary visits, nail surgery, and the treatment and assessment of high risk patients.

I had the opportunity to join the Andrew Boyle Podiatry team in 2004 and now work entirely in private practice. I am based at Healthpoint in Formby.

As a lifelong resident of Southport it is good to work within my own local community. I really enjoy my podiatry work within private practice.  There is time to listen to my clients’ needs and work out the best way of helping their foot health to improve.

I am committed to CPD ( continuing professional development), and attend several courses each year arranged by the local Merseyside Branch of the College of Podiatry. Recently I attended the College of Podiatrists Annual Conference in Liverpool, which I enjoyed very much.

I qualified in 1984 from the Northern College of Chiropody in Salford. I was employed by South Sefton Health Authority in the NHS Community Podiatry Department. I have worked in community clinics and also in the patient’s home environment. As part of my duties I have undertaken new patient assessments, treated their foot problems and formulated treatment plans for them. I also give advice on foot care and footwear. Also, I supervise students during their training and regularly perform nail surgery.

In 2010 I completed a module on tissue viability and wound healing. I have also done a rotation at Aintree University Hospital with the Podiatry Diabetes Service.

I have been responsible for managing a caseload of high risk patients. This includes those with diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, vascular problems and nerve damage.

I keep up to date with new developments and have recently taken part in an audit undertaken by the HCPC into the Continuing Professional Development of podiatrists. I successfully met the standards, demonstrating that I have continued to learn and develop for the benefit of my patients.

I became an associate at Andrew Boyle Podiatry in 2013,  working part time at Healthpoint Formby, and part time in the NHS.

In 2017, I left my NHS post to work entirely in private practice at Healthpoint Formby and Healthpoint Ainsdale.
