I qualified in 1984 after studying for three years at the Northern College of Chiropody (Manchester/Salford).
The next four years were spent in NHS employment with Southport and Formby Health Authority. I had special responsibility for providing the nail surgery service , and for the treatment of those in specialist psychiatric care at Greaves Hall Hospital. In 1989, I took up a post with Liverpool Health Authority, with responsibility for developing and operating the Orthotics Department.
I also worked within the Orthopaedics Department at Royal Liverpool Hospital, as the chiropodist in a specialist foot health team, headed by the distinguished surgeon Professor Leslie Klenerman. I was involved with a research clinic that developed new techniques in the prevention, and treatment of neuropathic foot ulcers.
Alongside my NHS work, I developed my private practice, opening my first surgery in Formby in 1991. In 2000, I decided to commit to full time private practice and I ceased all my NHS work. Now there are three venues for treatment, Formby, Ainsdale and Maghull. At Andrew Boyle Podiatry I have wonderful associates who have a wealth experience and deliver the quality of treatment expected in my practice. Between us we hope to keep our patients comfortable
and mobile for years to come.
In July 2008, I was appointed by the R & A to provide the Podiatry service for The Open at Royal Birkdale Golf Club.
I graduated in Podiatry in 1994 from The Northern College of Chiropody at Salford University.
I then worked for a short period for Chorley and South Ribble NHS Trust, gaining some valuable experience, before joining the Chiropody department in St. Helens and Knowsley.
Here I was responsible for a range of duties within a community setting. This included clinical work, domicilliary visits, nail surgery, and the treatment and assessment of high risk patients.
I had the opportunity to join the Andrew Boyle Podiatry team in 2004 and now work entirely in private practice. I am based at Healthpoint in Formby.
As a lifelong resident of Southport it is good to work within my own local community. I really enjoy my podiatry work within private practice. There is time to listen to my clients’ needs and work out the best way of helping their foot health to improve.
I am committed to CPD ( continuing professional development), and attend several courses each year arranged by the local Merseyside Branch of the College of Podiatry. Recently I attended the College of Podiatrists Annual Conference in Liverpool, which I enjoyed very much.
Graduated from London Foot Hospital in 1988, with prizes. Worked for Liverpool Health Authority from 1988-91, specialising in paediatrics and orthotics. Gained Health Education Certificate. Moved to London and became one of four managers of an NHS Podiatry Department in Redbridge. As well as a clinical role, I oversaw the research and audit elements of the department. I was one of the first podiatrists to work in the Multidisciplinary Centre for Diabetes at Whipps Hospital.
I became an Associate at Andrew Boyle Podiatry in 2005. I work at Healthpoint Formby and Healthpoint Maghull.
I qualified in 1984 from the Northern College of Chiropody in Salford. I was employed by South Sefton Health Authority in the NHS Community Podiatry Department. I have worked in community clinics and also in the patient’s home environment. As part of my duties I have undertaken new patient assessments, treated their foot problems and formulated treatment plans for them. I also give advice on foot care and footwear. Also, I supervise students during their training and regularly perform nail surgery.
In 2010 I completed a module on tissue viability and wound healing. I have also done a rotation at Aintree University Hospital with the Podiatry Diabetes Service.
I have been responsible for managing a caseload of high risk patients. This includes those with diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, vascular problems and nerve damage.
I keep up to date with new developments and have recently taken part in an audit undertaken by the HCPC into the Continuing Professional Development of podiatrists. I successfully met the standards, demonstrating that I have continued to learn and develop for the benefit of my patients.
I became an associate at Andrew Boyle Podiatry in 2013, working part time at Healthpoint Formby, and part time in the NHS.
In 2017, I left my NHS post to work entirely in private practice at Healthpoint Formby and Healthpoint Ainsdale.
I have worked for the NHS in the Podiatry department in Liverpool and Sefton since 1990.
I have experience in hospital rotations, community clinics and domiciliary visits. I have undertaken high risk diabetes, rheumatology, nail surgery, gait analysis, custom made orthotics and routine podiatry clinics.
I became an associate with Andrew Boyle Podiatry in 2016, and work in the Healthpoint Maghull and Formby practices.
I qualified from Salford University in 2000. Since then, I have worked in the NHS, in Liverpool and in Sefton.
I started working at Healthpoint in 2012, mainly at Maghull and occasionally at Formby.
Areas of particular interest to me include nail surgery, dermatology, wound care and diabetes.
After previously working in other areas of healthcare, in 2011 I graduated from Northampton University with a BSc(Hons) in Podiatry. I was also awarded “Best Clinical Performance” in recognition of my consistent and conscientious performance in my final year.
I gained Specialist Podiatrist status whilst working for the NHS in Staffordshire, and since returning to this area I have worked as a locum for several NHS Trusts.
I am committed to my professional development and have a post-graduate qualification in Diabetes Care from Warwick University. I have had specialist rotations in diabetes and biomechanics teams, and volunteered as a podiatrist at the London marathon.
I joined Andrew Boyle Podiatry as an associate in 2019, working at Healthpoint Formby. The rest of my week is with Virgin Care within the West Lancashire NHS Podiatry team. As a Specialist Podiatrist I carry out all aspects of podiatry care.
